Milou takes care of everything behind the scenes. She runs the operations after starting in the industry as a translator. After graduating for her masters in Persuasive Communication at the University of Amsterdam, she was a ghostwriter, and even a jeweler, albeit briefly. She is the go to for the project management team if they have any questions, she loves getting to the bottom of things, and as a passionate reader she enjoys delving into a good book in her spare time.
x CloseRemko is our technically skilled translation coordinator. at The Translation Collective. His background in business administration and marketing, combined with his experience as a project manager at a web development office, is extremely helpful when dealing with some of our more complex projects. Despite not having a background in linguistics, he loves it just as much as all of us at The Translation Collective. He particularly loves the Spanish language, and enjoys spending his holidays in for example Madrid or Buenos Aires. In his spare time he loves to play Floorball, listen to music and even create it himself. Remko is always excited to help his clients with their translation needs, no matter how complicated!
x CloseOur latest project manager, Edith, is responsible for the recruitment of our translators. She grew up in Texas, and her first acquaintance with translation services was her mother, who made her career as a translator. She found her own passion for language during her studies abroad, and decided to permanently move to Amsterdam, where she did her studies, because of it. Edith works as a volunteer at an animal shelter in her spare time, where she’s saving as many kittens as her boyfriend allows her to take home.
x CloseDennis, our software developer and passionate IT strategist, is working hard to put The Translation Collective on the map. In his spare time, he seeks to bring about some sense in society (according to him) as the chairman of the Basic Income Party. He also enjoys riding his motorcycle, preferably without any traffic around him. His goal: To make life simpler for the language people by reducing the daily amount of necessary mouse clicks.
x CloseMiles is co-founder of The Translation collective, and the third pair of eyes for the English texts. He was raised with the British culture, studied linguistics and history at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and he has been involved with the cultural side of Amsterdam and in general since pretty much forever. Miles also teaches English to employers and lectors at the Hogeschool Inholland. As relationship manager and editor in chief of English, he loves engaging with clients on how to strike the right tone in any text.
x CloseChanna made her entrance during one of the many waves of the corona virus as a wonderful intern and stayed with us as our content and marketing assistant. Next to her love for language, she is a fanatic fan of Amsterdam’s soccer team Ajax. She doesn’t mind waking up early in the weekends for an online K-pop concert, and a good (or terrible) pun always cheers her up.
x CloseJeroen loves numbers, ‘gezelligheid’ (sociability), and is our provider of ice cream and chips. If he wants to know more of any subject, he will go all-in by picking and devouring at least three books. You can mostly find him in a fancy restaurant or a cosy pub in Amsterdam, and occasionally at a ‘proper’ party or a festival. He dislikes micromanaging, and instead prefers looking at the bigger picture and acting according to vision or mission. He often says: Join forces, it’s the only way to move forward!
x CloseJeanne has always been interested in the English language, and in hindsight, she regrets that she did not study it at the university. Instead, she chose European Studies & North American Studies. She is the main planner among her friends, and enjoys bringing several groups of friends together. She enjoys true crime documentaries and podcasts. and if there’s one thing you can always wake her up for at night, it’s pizza!!
