Mnk Boy (pronounced Monkey Boy) is the moving story of 12-year-old Zeki who, together with his father Mahir, trades in the sober life in a deprived Rotterdam neighbourhood for a new life in the completely unfamiliar metropolis Istanbul. But his father is busy. To escape his loneliness, Zeki dreams of a superhero existence.
We helped the young, talented filmmakers Aydin Dehzah, Bas Broertjes and Mete Gümürhan with the English version of the screenplay. It was a gradual, collaborative process in which our specialist screenplay translators used feedback to ensure that the English translation did justice to the original. .
