We’ve all had to experience the frustration a paper manual can bring. Assembling IKEA furniture is known to be the ultimate relationship test for this reason! Luckily, not having the drawers close properly on you MALM closet is unfortunate but survivable. (I have accepted my failings by now)
It is, however, crucial for factory machines to function properly. Therefore Dutch startup Swipeguide, established in 2016, designed an app for industrial companies that would replace the old fashioned paper manuals with digital ones. Swipeguide is currently used in over 200 factories in 89 countries. Their international ambitions and success is precisely where The Translation Collective comes into play!

You guessed it, those digital manuals were not going to translate themselves! We have currently translated them into over 40(!) languages. This includes not only well known languages such as Finnish or Korean, but also Tagalog (spoken in the Philippines) and Odia (the official language of the Indian state of Odisha). These translations are created in software developed by SwipeGuide, which allows segments to be created separately. This is easy to use and very convenient for both parties involved. SwipeGuide has established itself as a successful international business with major clients including Heineken, PepsiCO en Coca-Cola.
